AMBA (Amrita Balance Trainer) was designed for people with balance impairments. India has a huge population of people with balance impairments due to old age, diabetes, stroke as well as peripheral neuropathy. AMBA allows static and dynamic balance training through interactive virtual reality games. Serious games designed for encouraging balance training ensure that the patient remains motivated for a longer time compared to conventional therapy regimes. With built-in tilt mechanisms, AMBA facilitates realistic ADL (Activities of Daily Living) scenarios.
We developed games that responded to changes in the COP (Center of Pressure) to help patients in improving their dynamic balance
